The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a lay Catholic organization that aspires to live the gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, hope and joy, and by working to shape a more just and compassionate society.

Thrift Store

Support Our Thrift Stores

Our Thrift Stores are the heart of the Joliet Diocesan Council. We need contributions of merchandise for our stores and if you can donate any merchandise, see our Donate Clothing and Furniture web page. If you like to buy new mattresses at cost or inexpensive slightly used merchandise, please visit us at any of our six stores that are described in our Thrift Stores Location web page.

Support Our Car Program

The Joliet Diocesan Council has a Car Program to provide transportation for our needy neighbors to get to and from their jobs. If you have a car that you no longer need, regardless of the condition, visit our Donate Vehicles web page.

SVDP1 Senior Housing Unit

The Joliet Diocesan Council has a private corporation that operates a 17 unit Senior Housing Unit. To qualify as a resident for this unit, you must be older than 62 and have income under $26,300 a year. For inquiries, please call 630-293-8918. 

Pantry

Contribute to the Food Pantries

Our Food Pantries are in need of food or money to buy needed food items. To select your favorite Food Pantry, select in the Conference Locations web page, a Conference near you and give them a call at the associated phone number.
